The HP 8640B Signal Generator covers the frequency range 500 kHz to 1024 MHz.
The high-Q cavity oscillator has been optimized with use of a low-noise
microwave transistor for spectraly pure output signals.
- Stability: < 0,05 ppm/hr
The 8640B incorporates a built-in 550 MHz Frequency Counter and phase-lock synchronizer.
The 6 1/2 digit counter displays the output frequency and can also be used to count external input signals from 20 Hz to 550 MHz.
- Output level: -145 to +19dBm (2V to 0,013ľV) calibrated, metered, and leveled to within +/- 0,5 dB across the full range of the instrument.
The 8640B provides AM, FM and pulse modulation.

- Opt 001: Internal Variable Audio Oscillator from 20Hz to 600kHz (1 mV to 3 V into 600 Ohm)
